William "Lafe" Maddix
"Lafe" was a circuit riding preacher in Carter County. Mom said he was a hard shell Baptist. William Lapheyette "Lafe" Maddix (William H. Maddix, Abraham Maddix, Nathan Maddix) was born about 1846 in KY. He lived in Carter County, KY. He married Eliza Brunetta Newell, daughter of Aaron Neville Newell and Margaret Sutton on 12 March 1868. Eliza was born in Rrett's Creek, Carter County, KY
Some of their childrens' names are: James, Frank, Perry, William and Lucy. I think Abraham is also one, but am not sure.
