Charlotta (McDaniel) Carroll (1872 - 1955)

Picture from my cousin Phyllis Wallace, written at the bottom says "Mom, Lottie, Jennie, Jessie, and Everett.

Phyllis doesn't know who Jennie and Everett are though.

Inez, married to James Franklin "Frank" Carroll, is the daughter-in-law of Lottie. 
 
Jennie (Reid) Carroll (1913-2002) is the daughter of Andrew Reid (1874-1944) of England and Margaret Patterson (1875-1920) of Pennsylvania. 
Jennie married Everett Avery "Red" Carroll and lived most of her adult life in Fayette County, West Virginia. They had three children: Everett Avery, Jr., 
Doris Ann and Jessie. Everett Avery "Red" Carroll is the son of William "Bill" Madison Carroll, Lottie's husband.
 
As Jessie was born in June 1940, this photograph was most likely taken in 1941 during a visit to Fultz, Carter County, Kentucky.

Charlotta (McDaniel) Carroll was the daughter of John McDaniel and Sarah (Conley) McDaniel.

She married William Carroll.

Charlotta "Lottie" Gustel (McDaniel) Carroll
 
Lottie was born 31 Dec 1872, most likely in Elliott County, Kentucky, as her parents resided there in the 1870 and 1880 censuses. 
She is the daughter of John McDaniel (1828-Unknown) of Fleming County, Kentucky & Sarah Jane Conley (1836-1876) of Morgan County, Kentucky. 
Notes: 1.) Sources vary on the death of John McDaniel from "before 1910 in Elliott County" to "1920 in Elliott County." 
No known documents to verify either. 2.) Conley also spelled "Connelly" by other sources and "Conly" on her marriage and death records. 
3.) Sarah died of "child bed fever" one day after her son, John D. McDaniel, was born in Elliott County, Kentucky.
 
Lottie married William "Bill" Madison Carroll, son of George Washington Carroll & Martha E. Dean. Their three children are:
 
James Franklin "Frank" Carroll (1894-1973), married Inez Faye Littleton
Lina Gustel Carroll (1895-1983), married William Robert Tackett
Rufus Milton Carroll (1898-1984), married Nellie Agnes Littleton
 
Charlotta "Lottie" Gustel (McDaniel) Carroll died 21 Oct 1955 in Fultz, Carter County, Kentucky. 

This photograph was taken 1950 in Olive Hill, Carter County, Kentucky. 

Lottie's granddaughter, Helen (Tackett) Patton, has the original photograph.
