Preston Offill
I believe this is James Preston Offill who was born Oct. 30, 1833 in Lawton, KY and died July 20, 1864 (or in 1885 per LDS) in Lexington, KY. He was a "bachelor school teacher". There is also a record of a Preston Offill who died in Carter Co. in 1927.
James Preston Offill was the brother of Theresa Ellen Offill. Ellen was the wife of Reuben Fletcher Ross. James Preston Offill and Theresa Ellen Offill were children of James Offill and Mary Louellyn Scott.
Photo is in an album which belonged to Reuben Fletcher Ross. I believe "Uncle" was written on the album by Harlan Ross, Reuben Ross' son. Harlan came into posession of the album after Reuben died in 1935. Harlan died in 1958. Reuben was the son of John Nelson Ross and Nancy Jane (Kinnamon) Ross.
