John C. Porter was born October 23, 1862 in Grayson Co., Va.
He married Nancy V. Catron on December 20, 1884 in Carter Co., KY.
John died on August 25, 1928 in Ashland, Boyd Co., KY. and is buried in Old Fairview Cemetery on Porter Creek.
John was the son of Andrew J. Porter (1822-1888) and Lucy (Cornett) Porter (1825-1879).
