Left to right, the white-haired lady is Catherine (Dyer) Stamper then Fairlena (Stamper) Kidwell, then her daughters Phoebe, Mattie, and Rebecca.
This very large outcropping of rock must be quite a landmark in Head of Grassy general area.
I am a descendant of Fairlena Stamper Kidwell, re:G.Meyers, chapter8, G.W. Stamper by Permillia Stamper.
My information states that Fairlena was only married once to J.L. Kidwell, I have a certified copy of their marriage Cert.
I have her newspaper obit wherein she is referred to as Sara Lena Kidwell, 78 wife of C. W. Kidwell (a typo error).
Their children were Jack, George, Maizie, Rebecca, and Phoebe (my grandmother) alive at the time of her death.
According to my book "Ancesters and Descendants of James Harley Hinton and Martha Alice Adams, Fairlena and J. L. had five other children,
Stella Louise, Millie, Thomas J., Cecil, and Mattie.
I have Mattie's newspaper obit, she was seventeen and died of Typhoid Fever. My grandmother, Phoebe, told me that her brother Cecil had his
arm severed in a sawmill accident, and died of the injury. I believe that Stella, Millie and Thomas died before Aunt Mattie
because only Jack, George, Maizie, Rebecca, and Phoebe were referred to in her obit, not by name, but through the process of elimination.
