Pictured is the submitter's great-great-grandfather, George Washington "Wash" Stamper. He was married twice, first to Margaret and then to Christina Riley (sbumitter's great-great-grandmother). Submitter's mother said that George's family came from North Carolina, she says that she remembers her grandmother Christina, since she was almost 10 years old when she passed away. George was born in 1837 and died in 1908. George and Christina lived in Carter County. Margaret is buried at Bethel and the monument states "wife of Washington Stamper." George is buried at Bethel cemetery with wife Christina.
