Terrese Ann Taber, b. 7 May 1842 Carter Co. KY, d. 29 Jun 1921 in Providence, Carter Co. KY. Her parents were James Taber, b. abt 1816 in Tazewell Co. VA, d. 6 Nov 1853 Carter Co. KY, and Sarah M. Brown, b. 21 Jan 1820, d. 27 Jun 1881 in KY. They were married in Tazewell Co. VA on 17 Jan 1837.
Terrese married John Roe in Carter Co. KY at her mother's home on 6 Nov 1863. He was b. abt 1842 in KY and d. 6 Apr 1881 in Jasper Co. IL. There is a picture of John's father Isom Morris Roe in the Carter Co. KY Photo Album. Isom was b. 17 Oct 1817 in Fleming Co. KY and d. 23 Aug 1878 in Lewis Co. KY. Isom married Eleanor Harrison Gilbert on 25 March 1841 in Carter Co. KY. She was b. 18 Oct 1841 in VA and d. 28 Oct 1878 in Lewis Co. KY.
Terrese and John had the following children:
1. Isom Morris Roe, b. 1 Jun 1865 Carter Co. KY, d. 25 May 1899. His picture is also on the Carter Co. KY Photo Album. This younger Isom married Melvina Eleanor Cline about 1890 in Carter Co. KY. She was b. 27 Feb. 1873 in Ohio and d. 20 Mar 1948 in Olive Hill.
2. Hezekiah "Carr" Roe, b. 21 Mar 1867 Carter Co. KY., d. 16 Apr 1953 Carter Co. KY. He married Lucy Maddix on 4 Nov 1896 in Carter Co. KY. She was b. 28 Apr 1875 in KY, and d. 20 Feb 1956 in Carter Co. KY.
3. William F. Roe, b. 20 Dec 1870 Elliott Co. KY, d. 21 Sep 1957 Scioto Co. OH. William became deaf and dumb at an early age. He lived with his brother George his entire adult life and never married.
4. George Edward Roe (my maternal grandfather), b. 29 Jun 1873 Carter Co. KY, d. 12 Mar 1956 in Portsmouth, Scioto Co. OH. He married Sarah Elizabeth Johnson in Carter Co. KY on 22 May 1897. Sarah was b. 6 Jan. 1877 in Carter Co. KY and d. 26 Oct 1961 in Scioto Co. OH. Sarah was a daughter of Elijah Johnson and Elizabeth Boggs. There is a picture of this entire family in the Carter Co. KY Photo Album. Elijah was b. 5 Feb 1832 in KY and d. 9 Dec 1917 Carter Co. KY. He was married abt 1861 in Carter Co. KY to Elizabeth. She was b. 30 Aug 1845 in KY and d. 17 Apr 1911 Carter Co. KY.
5. Sarah Ellen Roe, b. 19 Apr 1875 Carter Co. KY, d. 14 Aug 1897 Carter Co. KY. She married Willis Johnson, brother of Sarah Elizabeth Johnson, and son of Elijah Johnson and Elizabeth Boggs, about 1895 in Carter Co. KY. Willis was b. 3 Mar 1875 in Carter Co. KY and d. 8 Oct 1966.
6. Charles W. Roe, b. 11 Jun 1877 Elliott Co. KY, d. 18 Aug 1895 in Elliott Co. KY.
