Carl Henry Wilson was born October 13, 1921 in Carter County, married Bernice McCoy. Carl was owner and operator of Wilson's General Store, Gregoryville, Kentucky, and is the owner and operator of Rupert's Department Store in Grayson, Kentucky, along with his son Tim Wilson.
Everyone remembers those Thick Milk Shakes, Hot Fudge Sundays; Banana Split, Foot Long Hot Dogs with Jenny’s home made hot dog sauce, big juicy hamburgers, and those luscious mile high Lemon and Coconut Cream Meringue Pies.
Pictured are my parents Paul and Virginia (Stone) Wilson. Paul and Jenny owned and operated the Shake Shop from 1960's-1985. This picture was taken in the 1960’s or 1970’s. The Shake Shop was the only and best place in Grayson to eat. The Restaurant was demolished and I believe a Quick Stop Gas or a Self Serve of some sort is located where the Shake Shop once stood.
