This is a photo taken in August, 1954 of the general store located at Iron Hill in the 50's and 60's,
which was run by my grandfather and grandmother, Willie and Ruby Burnett.
The store was located within sight of the Iron Hill Bridge and the Iron Hill Christian Church.
They sold dry goods, snacks, pop, used furniture, etc. and at one time my grandfather handled the mail for Iron Hill.
As a child it was a grand place to explore. The counter ran from the front door all the way back to the storage room in the rear of the building
and the shelves behind it went all the way to the ceiling - very much like something you might see in the old movies as a little country general store.
This picture brings back great memories. I'm not certain, but I believe the woman in front is my great aunt Audrey Carroll Burnett,
who lived across the street from the store.
