Louisville Fire Brick Works, 1915 and 1975

Pictured is the Louisville Fire Brick Works of Carter Co., Ky., as it appeared in 1915.   The Louisville Fire Brick Works was a company with plants located both in Louisville and in the small community of Fire Clay (later known as Grahn), that first incorporated in 1905.  Both plants were built by Karl B. Grahn, who remained President of the Co. until his death in 1922.  The Louisville Fire Brick Works brought great prosperity to the community of Fire Clay, w hich in honor of Karl B. Grahn (pictured herein above), was renamed Grahn in 1913.
