Fountain Plaza

These are drawings I made of a proposed plaza/park in downtown Olive Hill. In recent years, Olive Hill has lost several
important buildings in the downtown area. There is currently a large city-owned vacant lot on Cross St.,
across from Tyler's Pizza. Pati Porter and I are trying to convince the city to let us put a plaza on the vacant lot.

I created these images give us an idea of what the completed plaza might look like.
The plaza won't fix all of Olive Hill's ills, but we feel it will be a good start on a long come-back road.

A water fountain will be the center-piece of the plaza. There would be water shooting 10 feet into the air,
with colored lights under the water and shining on the spray. There would also be a bandstand for local
bluegrass musicians, picnic tables, two grassy areas, awnings to create shade, all night lighting and many other amenities.

We don't yet have approval to start work, nor has the money source been identified.

We try to keep in mind the words of that ancient Chinese philosopher, Lao-tzu (604 BC - 531 BC)..

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."
