"This picture was found in the estate of Henry Evans of Grayson. His daughter, Hazel Evans Shufflebarger, gave it to me in 1992, along with pictures of John William Evans and his mother Nancy Waugh Evans. John's father was Samuel Jackson Evans.

John W. Evans was married to Mary Elizabeth Erwin, daughter of Robert Dickenson Erwin and Elizabeth Ison. We thought she might be an Erwin, but she could be from the Evans family."
