"I recently came across this old photo. My husbands aunt passed away and it was with her belongings. Her mother had had
the photo enlarged at the Fowlers in Portsmouth. After showing the photo to several relatives, We believe there is a
strong possiblity that this is a Sexton family. The resemblence to the other identified photos of Sexton
family members is great. My husbands great grandmother was Mary Alice Sexton, daughter of William Sexton
and Martha Jane Nelson Sexton. They lived at Smith Creek, Carter county. William and Martha Jane Nelson Sexton
came from Russell County, Virginia.
