A writing purported to be the last
will and testament of Wm. R. Blankenship late of Carter County Ky was this day
presented into court and proven by the oath of Frank Prater, one of the
attesting witnesses to said will. The said
Prater having been sworn , testified that the writing
was signed and acknowledged by the said W. R. Blankenship in his presence as
the last will and testament and he at his request in his presence and in the
presence of W. S. Blankenship, the other observing witness. That said Blankenship was a citizen of Carter
County and over the age of twenty one (21) years and died in Carter
County. That he was of sound mind and
disposing memory at the time said will was executed. It is therefore ordered and adjudged that
said instrument of writing be and the same is admitted to record as the last
will and testament of W. R. Blankenship, deceased.
Here follows the Will in words and figures as follows tourt
Carter County Kentucky.
I, W. R. Blankenship of said county and state do make this
my last will and testament hereby revoking any and all former wills I may have
made. I give and devise to my son,
Anthony Blankenship all that tract or parcel of land that he now lives on
situate in the County of Carter and State of Kentucky on the Little Fork of the
Little Sandy River. One
hundred acres more or less.
Beginning at the center of the county road at a stake thence up the
county road S22, N21-1/2 poles to the lane thence N69-1/2 ,
W38-1/4 poles to a stake S18-1/2, W11 poles to the corner of the crib. S71, E3 poles to the garden corner, S11, W29
poles to a sycamore on the bank of the Little Fork thence down until the
meanders of the Little Fork to S. L. Bayse live thence until Bayse live and Blankenships
live to where it intersects John Crawfords live thence a South East course
until W. R. Blankenships original line back to the County road thence up the
County road to the Beginning. And that
the said Anthony Blankenship is to keep and care for Alice Blankenship and to
furnish her a support and a house as long as she desires to reside on said
place. In witness
