Scioto County Ohio Will, No. 21, Book A, Pg. 61

In the name of God Amen I Samuel Moak of Vernon Township Scioto

County and State of Ohio being weak in body but of sound and

perfect 'mind and memory considering the uncertainty of this

mortal life and being of sound mind and memory blest by almighty

God for the same do make and publish this my last will and

testament in manner following to wit:

First I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Catv Moak one

third part of my property. I do also give and bequeath unto mY.

two sons Joseph Moak and Peter Moak the rest of my property each

to have an equal part and my desire is that my beloved wife

should keep my two sons for the term of eleven years and then be

put to trade providing she remain single or if otherwise that

the children be well taken care of by her and not abused by her

giving security for the good raising the children and to hold the

property in same manner as the children and likewise that she is

not to move out of Scioto County unless she shall give sufficient

security for the good raising the children and keeping the

property for the children and if she does not give security than

the children and property to be under the care of and direction

of Thompson Sebring whom I hereby appoint sole executor of this

my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me

made in witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this

fifth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight

hundred and nineteen.

be his last will and testament in the presence of us who have

hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses in the presence of the testator [interlined before signing]

The within named boys to be put into trades for the term of four

years and no longer and then to live with their mother again, if

they can agree if not to go under the direction of Thomas Sebring executor of the written instrument of writing said children to be kept at school six months after they shall have served four years

at apprenticeship.
