She is serviced by a sister, Mable Stevens of Clearwater, Fla.; and a brother William Jackson of Ava, Mo.
Arrangements are pending at Townsend-Jones Funeral Home in Providence.

Old Lady Dies Near Oakland Church
End Came On April First To Miss Emma Barnett AT Seventy-Three
Miss Emma Barnett, a splendid lady, died on April first at the home of her brother, Mr. T. E. Barnett, near Oakland church, six miles south east of Cadiz. She was a member of Oakland Methodist church, and a good and kind lady who had many friends.
Two brothers, Messrs. J. O. and T. E. Barnett are among the surviving relatives.
Burial took place near where she died. Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. E. D. Boggess, of Cadiz.

Splendid Lady Of Oakland Section Passed Away Monday Morning
Wife Of Late "Fell" Barnett And Six Children Among Surviving Relatives
Mrs. T. J. Barnett, a splendid lady of the county and wife of the late J. O. Barnett, died at the family home near Oakland last Monday morning following a brief illness of pneumonia.
Mrs. Barnett was a Miss Sholar before her marriage and was past seventy years of at the time of her death.
She was a woman held in high esteem by her neighbors and friends. As a wife and mother she was kind and indulgent, and as a neighbor she always proved a true friend in the time of need.
She is survived by one sisters, Mrs. J. R. Moore, of the Donaldson section, and the following children: Pink Barnett, of McCracken county; Smoot and Crenshaw Barnett, of Montgomery county, Tenn., and Obie and Rubye Barnett and Mrs. Prentice Wilson, of Trigg county.
Funeral and burial took place at the family grave yard Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock.
Pink Barnett accompanied by his wife and son, reached the county Tuesday morning to attend the funeral and burial.

Long Illness Fatal To Splendid Citizen Living Near Oakland
Was Native of Tennessee But Resident of Trigg Since Twelve Years Old
Mr. J. O. Barnett known to his intimate friends as "Fell" Barnett, died last Thursday afternoon at six o'clock at his home near Oakland six miles southeast of Cadiz.
Mr. Barnett had been in declining health for more than two years past, and a heart affection and dropsy with other complications, caused his death.
Mr. Barnett was seventy seven years of age, the 17th of last December, and was a son of Samuel Barnett, who died near Oakland many years ago. Mr. Barnett was a native of Montgomery county, Tenn., but came with the parents to Trigg county at the age of twelve, and had since made this county his home.
A little over fifty years ago he was united in marriage to Miss Telitha Jane Sholar, and the wife and six children survive him. Two children died in infancy, and Edgar, died several years ago at the age of twenty two. The six surviving children are Pink Barnett, of Mc Cracken county; Smoot and Crenshaw Barnett of Montgomery county, Tenn; and Mrs. Prentice Wilson and Rubie and Obie Barnett of Trigg county.
Mr. T. E. (Bud) Barnett is an only surviving brother.
Mr. Barnett was one of the cleverest men in all Trigg county. He was a good neighbor, a loyal friend, and a kind and indulgent father and husband, and his friends were limited by his acquaintances.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the home conducted by Rev. E. R. Noel, of Cadiz, and burial followed at the home burying ground. A large crowd of sorrowing friends and relatives were present to pay a last tribute of respect to a good citizen.

Daughter of Worth Futrell And Husband And Three Daughters Survive
Mrs. Obie Barnett, living a few miles south of Cadiz, died last Saturday after a lingering illness of tuberculosis.
Mrs. Barnett was the daughter of Mr. D. Worth Futrell, of the Donaldson section, and is survived by the husband and three little daughters.
She was a member of the Baptist church and a splendid lady and her many relatives and friends are very much grieved by her untimely death.
Funeral and burial took place Sunday afternoon at the Barnett grave yard near Oakland, services being conducted by Rev. E. R. Noel.

Mr. Samuel Barnett, a very old, respectable citizen of this county, died last Tuesday morning at his residence about six miles from town. He had been affected with dropsy about twelve months previous to his death, and had been nearly blind about two years. His bereaved family has the sympathy of a wide circle of friends.

Aged Resident Dies Near Oakland Community After Spending
Useful Life
T.E. BARNETT, a resident of the Oakland community died at his home Thursday morning, April 11, 1940 after an illness of some duration.
Mr Barnett, a well known and highly respected man was born in Montgomery county Tennessee, March 9, 1854, but came to Trigg county with his parents when he was two years old. He was 86 years old this past March.
On December 13, 1897, he was married to Miss Lucy RANDOLPH. They had no children.
Both Mr and Mrs BARNETT became one of the most respected couples in their community and for thirty years held daily devotional services in their home.
No person came to their home without going away feeling they had truly talked with persons who were friends to all. Mr
Barnett had been a member of the Bethel Methodist church since a young man.
Funeral services were conducted Friday by Rev. Thomas Hinchee in the presence of a large crowd of friends and neighbors which called attention to the high standing of
the deceased in the community as well as in the county. Burial took place in the Barnett family burying ground.
Pall bearers were: Smoot, Crenshaw, Ruby and Obie Barnett, nephews, and Wilford and Robert Barnett, great nephews.
People from out of the county who attended the funeral were: J.R. Randolph, Sturgis, and G.A. Randolph, Mayfield
