Services for Corbit Daniel Birdsong were at 2 p.m. today at the  Goodwin Funeral Home here.

James Blalock officiated and burial was in the English Cemetery in the Land Between the Lakes.
Mr. Birdsong, 89, of Cadiz Rt. 2, died at 7:10 p.m. Saturday at the Life Care Nursing Home in Paducah.

A Trigg county native, he was a retired farmer and a member of the Cadiz congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Survivors include eight sons, C.D. Birdsong, Jr. and Rondal Birdsong both of Paducah, J.B. Birdsong of Cleveland, Ohio.  Dan Birdsong and G.W. Birdsong, both of Purcell Okla., A.F. (gyster) Birdsong of Hopkinsville, and Arvell B. Birdsong and Everett birdsong, both of
Trig county; five daughters, Mrs. Louise Jeffrey of Burna, Mrs. Oniel Hooks of  Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mrs. Helen Elder, Mrs. Nellie Lyons and Mrs. Frances Clark, all of Paducah; three sisters, Mrs. Ardle Timmons of Paducah, Mrs. Oina Turner of Cadiz and Mrs. Vera
Turner of Detroit, Mich.; 27 grandchildren and 23 great-grand-children.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Miss Dorothy Mae Birdsong, and two sons, Raymond Birdsong and an infant.

Young People Drown

July 9, 1926
Caldwell Co, Paper.
Three young people of Trigg county, Miss Lurline Turner, Otho Birdsong and Kellie Morrison were drowned in the Tennessee River about eighteen miles west of Cadiz last Saturday night. They were members of a picnic crowd, and were enroute home in a motor when they lost their lives. All the victims were about 18 years old and were
buried Monday.
