John R. Carney Dies In California
Hemorrhage Of the Brain Causes Death Of Former Trigg Countian
Remains Cremated and Will Be Brought Back To His Old Home For Burial
Mr. John R. Carney, a former well known and splendid citizen of Trigg county, died on December 20th in a state hospital at Stockton, California, where he had been under treatment for some time.
The news came in a letter to Mr. John L. Street, president of the Trigg County Farmers Bank, from Mr. Carney's sister, Mrs. M. D. Trewhitt, of Hanford, California.
Mr. Carney had been troubled with hardening of the arteries and hemorrhage of the brain was the immediate cause of his death.
Mrs. Trewhitt writes that the body was cremated and that the ashes will be shipped to Trigg county and buried by the side of his wife in the family grave yard north of Cadiz.
Mr. Carney was between sixty five and seventy years of age, and had lived a long time about six miles north of Cadiz.

Local funeral director Talbert Berry Carney, 76, of 604 Center St. died at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday at Community Methodist Hospital.
He was voce president and general manager of the Ruby-Rowland Funeral Chapel, a member and elder of the Presbyterian Church of Henderson and a member if the Rotary Club and Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Dora Galloway Carney; two sisters, Mrs. Ray Wallace of Franklin, Tenn., and Mrs. Horace Hall of Sturgis; one brother William Carney of Janesville, Wis.
Services will be in Fernwood at 10 a.m. Friday at the Presbyterian Church of Henderson with Dr. Marvin Randolph officiating. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Russell Sights, Marion Lee Eakins III, George Lackey, Kenneth Link, Michael Sauer and James J. Bates Jr.
Freinds may all at the Rudy-Rowland Funeral Chapel after 10 a.m. today.
Memorial expressions may take the form of contributions to the building fund of the Presbyterian Church of Henderson or charity.
