ALMARINDA COTTON

We regret to chronicle the death of Mrs. Almarinda Cotton, wife of Mr. John Cotton, daughter of Elijah Armstrong, who died near here last Saturday of consumption.
She was buried Sunday in the burial ground, on Mr. L.W. D. Hamby's place. To the mourning husband, be faithful to the end, the father, brother and sister, I extend to you my heart felt sympathy and condolence.

Aged Lamasco Citizen Found Dead
The body of ATHEN B. COTTON, 74, was found Saturday about 500 yards from his home near Lamasco.
Mr. Cotton, who lived alone, had been missing since Thursday. Lyon county coroner Shelly Dunn, said Mr. Cotton died of a heart attack. Mr. Cotton had walked to Lamasco and was on his way home when last seen.
Funeral was held Monday afternoon with Dunn Funeral home in charge.
Survivors include four daughters, Miss Lena Cotton, knoxville, Mrs. J.S. Sarin, Nashville Mrs. Walter Barnes - rest of article un readable.

MARY V. COTTON

             FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Mary Vincent Hanratty
             Cotton, 91, Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of
             Hopkinsville, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, in
             Fort Myers of natural causes.

             Private services were held in Fort Myers with
             burial in Palm Beach Memorial Gardens on
             February 23 with Kiser Funeral Home, Fort Myers,
             in charge of arrangements.

             A native of Clarksville, Tenn., she was born May
             12, 1908, the daughter of the late James P. and
             Mary Hurst Hanratty and had lived in Hopkinsville
             for many years. She was a court reporter for the
             late Judge Ira D. Smith. She was a member of the
             Daughters of the American Revolution, the
             Southern Dames and was a national flower show
             judge. She was a member of the Church of the
             Resurrection, Fort Myers. Her husband, retired
             Col. Louis H. Cotton, and a son, William Cotton,
             preceded her in death.

             There are no immediate survivors.
