Whooping Cough Fatal

The two-year old infant of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Crick of the Crofton vicinity, died yesterday (Feb. 24, 1924) of whooping cough.  The remains were taken to Crofton today for burial at Castleberry Cemetery near Crofton.



ELMER C CRICK

Funeral Services for Elmer C. Crick, 76, of 1305 E. Court Ave., Jeffersonville, IN, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Scott Funeral Home with burial in the Walnut Ridge Cemetery.  He died at 8:25 a.m. Monday, (August 16, 1971) at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Louisville.
Crick, a native of Christian County, KY, was a retired coal miner and farmer.
He was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Charlestown and the American Legion.  He was also a veteran of World War I.
Survivors are his wife, the former Paradise Bullock; five sons, Eldon, Charlestown, Oneal, Bowling Green, KY, Raymond, O'Dell, and Jerry, all of Jeffersonville;  three daughters, Mrs. Rebecca Wickline and Mrs. Janetta Hargett, both of Jeffersonville, and MRs. Faye Claypool, Auburn, KY; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Barnes, Mrs. Maude Nance, and Mrs. Girleen Gillard, all of Nortonville, KY; 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.


JAMES EDWARD CRICK SR

James Edward Crick Sr., 63, Morris Lake Road, Hopkinsville, died at 8:50 a.m. Sunday at the Senior Citizens Nursing Home, Madisonville. Burial will be in Grapevine Cemetery, Madisonville.
A native of Madisonville, he was born Aug. 28, 1834, the son of the late James Thomas and Helen Katherine Morton Crick. He was retired after 30 years as a Greyhound Bus Driver and was an Air Force veteran
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Gene (Linda) Hamilton, Silverton, Ore., Mrs. Randy (Debra) Bell, Eugene, Ore., Mrs. Skip (JoAnn) Smith, Las Vegas, Nev., a son, James Edward Crick Jr., Vancouver, Wash,; two sisters, Martha Crick and Dorothy Ozment, Madisonville and 10 grandchildren.

JEWELL CRICK

Jewell Crick, 93, Crofton, died at 3 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, 3000, at the Regional Medical Center, Madisonville, following a long illness.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hughart and Beard Funeral Home, Crofton. Burial will be in Castleberry Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 tonight.

A native of Hopkins County, he was born June 6, 1907, the son of the late Richard and Kate Terry Crick. He was a farmer and a member of the Crofton Independent General Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Maurice J. Crick and James W. Crick, both of Crofton; a daughter, Bessie Jean Crick, Crofton and two sisters, Colleen Waters, Hopkinsville and Dorothy Johnson, Fort Smith, Ark.


NELLIE CRICK
(July 22, 1975)

Mrs. Nellie Crick, 73, of Hopkinsville, a former resident of the Crossroads Community near Nortonville, died in Jennie Stuart Hospital in Hopkinsville at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday (July 22, 1975). She is the daughter of the late Alphonsus Leo Morgan and Martha Smith.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Carrie Gibbs and Mrs. Gwendella Gibson, both of Hopkinsville, and Mrs. Margaret Fuller, Nortonville; two sons, G. W. Crick, Nortonville and Julius Crick Calumet City, IL.; a brother Earl Morgan, Carmi, IL; three sisters, Mrs. Rose Gunnels, Carmi, IL, Mrs. Elsie Bean, New Haven, IL, and Mrs. Hazel Davis, of Isley, 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville by Reverend Allen Crunk, with burial in New Salem Cemetery.
