EDWARD EDWARDSMr. Edward Edwards, one of our best and oldest citizens died Thursday at 1 p.m. of pneumonia, in the 74th year of his age.
His funeral was preached at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church yesterday afternoon by Rev. A.C. Biddle, the interment taking place at the city cemetery.
Mr. Edwards was a man of quiet manners but of genuine character. He was true to his friends, a faithful Christian and occupied a place of honor in commercial circles. He leaves a wife and two daughters to mourn his loss, while every citizen of Hopkinsville feels that his deth is a public calamity.

Pennyrile Deaths – March 17, 1999Georgia Miller Edwards, 94, Pinecrest Manor, died at 8:05 a.m. Tuesday at Pinecrest of natural causes.Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Riverside Cemetery, with the Rev. Ed Dininger officiating. There will be no visitation. Hughart and Beard Funeral Home, Hopkinsville, is in charge of arrangements.A native of Montgomery County, Tenn., she was born May 23, 1904, the daughter of the late George and Selena Miller. She had been a private nurse at Western State Hospital. Her husband and a daughter, Laura Ann Edwards, preceded her in death.Survivors include a grand-, daughter, Cara Danick, Hopkinsville, who had made her home with her grandmother; a grandson and a great-granddaughter.
MRS JAMES EDWARDSMrs. James C. Edwards died at Russellville Thursday. She was formerly Miss Martin, of Muhlenberg and sister to Mr. W.H. Martin of Crofton.
