FUTRELLPennyrile Deaths – March 17, 1999PRINCETON, Ky. — Brenda Thomas Futrell, 46, Cadiz, died at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday at her home following a long illness.Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Morgan’s Funeral Home, with Dean Roach officiating. Burial will be in Cross Roads Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 9 tonight.A native of Caldwell County, she was born Sept. 20, 1952, the daughter of Calvin and Ruth Haile Thomas, Dawson Springs. She was an administrative assistant for American National Rubber Co. and was a member of the Princeton Church of Christ.In addition to her parents, survivors include her husband, Harold “Tom” Futrell; a son, Jason Futrell, Cadiz; a daughter, Melanie Futrell Harris, Fort Campbell; and two brothers, Jack Thomas, Dawson Springs and Steve Thomas, Granville, Ohio.

DIED – On last Saturday, Mr. Cullen Futrell, of Linton. He was an old bachelor, and a very cleaver gentleman. His relatives have our sympathy.

End Comes To Splendid Old Citizen Of Southern Section of County
Mr. D. W. Futrell, a splendid old citizen of the southern section of the county, died last Sunday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. George P. Sholar near Newton's store.
Mr. Futrell was about eight years of age, and infirmities due to declining years caused his death.
The wife, who was a Miss Joiner before their marriage, being an aunt of Jailer Dick Joiner, Mrs. John L. Turner and Mrs. Lee O. Hendrick, of Cadiz, died many years ago and Mrs. Sholar and Mrs. Mat Harrell, of Graves county, are two living daughters.
A large crowd attended the funeral and burial which took place Monday afternoon at the Rogers grave yard near Dry Creek in Linton section.
DILLARD E. FUTRELLCADIZ, Ky. -- Dillard Elas Futrell, 79, Cadiz, died at 1:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at the Murray-Calloway Hospital, Murray, of natural causes.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Goodwin Funeral Home with the Revs. Frank Kirby, Johnny Hawkins and Robert Futrell officiating. Burial will be in the Futrell-Skinner Cemetery, Trigg County. Visitation begins at 4:00 this afternoon.A native of Trigg County, he was born Nov. 28, 1923, the son of the late Wylie A. and Nancy "Nanny" Dixon Futrell. He had worked at Thomas Industries, was a World War II Army veteran and was a member of the Rocky Ridge Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian Burcham Futrell; two sons, Jimmy Futrell, Hopkinsville, Robert Futrell, Oneida; four daughters, Mrs. Darce (Betty) Thomas, Mrs. Ronnie (Elwanda) Adams, both of Hopkinsville, Angelia Ladd, Cadiz, Mrs. J.B. (Lanita) Cox, Taylorville, Ill.; two sisters, Dorothy Coker and Beatrice Hawkins, both of Cadiz, 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Rocky Ridge Baptist Church, 79 North Montgomery Road, Cadiz, Ky., 42211.

In Memory of Mrs. Futrell. --- On April 22,1907, the death angel visited the home of D.W. Futrell and took from him his loving wife. She had been an invalid for two years or more from a complication of diseases and during her last hours suffered greatly. We feel that our loss was her gain. She was about 57 years of age, a member of the Baptist Church at Shady Grove and will be greatly missed in this vicinity, as she was never too tired to visit the sick and lend a helping hand to their wants and needs, but no one will miss her like her dear and only child.
Mrs. Futrell leaves a husband and one child; and oh, how hard it is for her boy to give her up. He said he had nothing to regret on his part---he never gave his dear mother any trouble and was such a loving child, staying by her bedside in her last hours and doing all in his power to alleviate her suffering.
She was buried in the Boyd grave yard, near Geo. Sholar's. Her Cousin.

Futrell, a splendid old lady living less than two miles east of Linton and wife of the late William R. Futrell, who died in 1898, passed away at her home at eleven o'clock Sunday night after an illness lasting over a period of many months.Mrs. Futrell was eighty seven years of age and had spent her entire life in Trigg county. She was a daughter of Perry Thomas long deceased, one of the outstanding citizens of the county in his day, and she was one of a large family of children. Two sisters and two brothers survive her. They are W. Scott Thomas, Miss Josephine Thomas and Mrs. Etna Turner of Trigg county, and Mrs. Starkie Thomas, of Calloway county.Mrs. Futrell had long been a member of the Baptist church, and was a good and kind old lady, a devoted Christian and a woman held in highest esteem by her numerous friends, and her passing removed another of the good ole women of the county from the walks of life.Funeral and burial took place Tuesday afternoon at the family grave yard near her home, a large number of sorrowing friends and relatives present.Cadiz REcordJuly 5, 1924Mr. and Mrs. Joe Futrell Lose Their Infant SonHenry, little ten months' old son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Futrell, of the Casey's creek section, died lat Friday night after an illness of a few days.Burial took place Saturday at the Starkie Thomas grave yard six miles south of Cadiz, Mayor John R. Futrell died at his home December 11. He was born January 28, 1869. He was 75 years, 19 months, 17 days old.He was united in marriage to Mrs Carrie Wood Futrell in 1894 and professed faith in Christ and joined the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, and lived a true Christian life to the end.Funeral services were held at the graveside Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Tim Hicks officiated. Surviving are his 3 sons, Ernest Futrell, Harry Futrell, Trigg county and four daughters, Mrs Dean Newton, Mrs H.C. Horn and Miss Bertha Futrell, all of Los Angeles, California, Mrs M. Johnson, Lovelock Nev. and five grandchildren, one brother S.F. Futrell, three sisters, Mrs Jane Scott, Mrs Eathie Brenst, and Mrs Annie Casey, and a host of friends to mourn his passing.Cadiz Record 1944
