KUTTAWA, KY – Elsie Arawanna Kyle, 76, of Barkley Lake near Lyon County, formerly of Dawson Springs, died at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday at her home.Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Beshear Funeral Home, Dawson Springs, with Eddie Beshear officiating. Burial will follow in Piney Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight and from 8 a.m. until the funeral Friday at the funeral home.
A native of Caldwell County, she was born Feb 17, 1923. She was the daughter of the late G.E. “George” and Bobbie Melvinie Lamb Thomas and was a home maker, member of the First Baptist Church and the Newcomers Club of Trigg and Lyon counties and a certified genealogist.
She researched and wrote two books about marriages and genealogy in Caldwell County. Her husband, Frank W. Kyle, died in 1998.
Survivors include a son, George Kyle, Hopkinsville; a daughter Mrs. Kriss (Brenda) Buckstrom, Barkley Lake near Trigg County, four sisters, Beulah stills and Polly McGregor, both of Dawson Springs, Jessie Turner, Princeton, and Virginia Pauley, Barkley Lake near Lyon County; three brothers, Elbert Thomas, and Ovid Thomas, both of Caldwell County; and Luther Edwards, Dawson Springs; and two grand children and two great grandchildren.
