LAWRENCE, nee Louella BURBA , a lifetime resident of Cadiz passed away Sunday evening, May 21, at 6:30 P.M.She had been ill for about two years, and during this period had a continuous struggle to recover her health. By virtue of her business and social qualities she was widely known throughout Trigg county, and Western Kentucky. She was considered a highly capable business personage having managed successfully the millinery dept for one of the large Cadiz stores. Always a woman of courage, her dauntless spirit was conquered by nothing but illness and death. Her charitable acts and contributions were known by all.
Since early childhood she had been a member of the Cadiz Methodist Church, and for many years she was a very active member of that Church. She was a motivating force at Class No. 9 of the Methodist Church and her work in that connection was highly inspirational.
During the course of her more than two years illness Mrs Lawrence, in a futile effort to be restored to health, had been a patient at St . Thomas' Hospital and at the Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. About four weeks ago she entered St Lukes Hospital in St Louis, Mo; and there underwent a major brain operation by the celebrated Dr. Klemme.
Upon returning to Cadiz she apparently was well on the road to recovery until last Monday she was taken ill and on the Friday preceding her death she suffered a stroke, form which she did not regain consciousness
. Her husband the former publisher of the Cadiz Record, was long active in politics, being one time Adjutant General of Kentucky. They were united in marriage in November 1925. He preceded Mrs Lawrence in death, having died in 1933. Funeral rites were held Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock from her home on Main Street and wee conducted by her pastor. Rev. T.C. Morrison.

MRS PEACHIE LAWRENCEIn Loving Remembrance. --- Canton, Ky., April 28th, 1912. Mrs. Peachie Lawrence, wife of Haywood Lawrence, died March 27th, 1912, of consumption, after an illness of several months. For the past three weeks before she died she had been confined to her bed. She was 37 years, 11 months and 4 days old, she left a husband and three children. Since her baby has followed her to the grave from the same disease. After many days of weary suffering her sweet sprit was summoned to enter the summer land. She was a kind and affectionate friend to all, and to know her was to love her. She professed a hope in Christ at the age of 14 and united with the Donaldson Baptist church and lived a pure devoted life to show others there is a true reality in the religion. She was left without a mother at the age of 10 years to the parental care of a father. No one, only those who have passed through such dark, deep waters, can ever know how lonely at heart we feel. We do not mourn as they who have n!
o hope, but as those who one day expect to meet their loved ones around that great white throne and spend an eternity in praising Him who has washed our robes and made them white as snow in the blood of the Lamb; but oh, so sad to see the tender form of my dear sister encircled in the cold arms of death. We feel that Peachie is not dead, but transported to a more congenial clime where she may bask forever in the glorious rays of righteousness. We do not know the why and whyfores of our trials and bereavements here, but we are assured all things work together for those who love the Lord. We are taught in his word that we are born for a higher destiny than that of the earth. We know the less of things the more of heaven, but our earthly home is so sad without the sweet companionship of my dear sister who was ever ready to help bear the everyday burden of life, and while she sleeps the long sleep of death her pure sprit has been gently bourne to her far away home of the soul. !
Her loving sister, Eddie A. Carr
