Mrs L.F. Luton Dies After Long Illness
After a long period of illness, Mrs Mary Cornelia Lancaster Luton was claimed by death on September 7, at the home of her grandson in Golden Pond, Ky.
She was born January 4, 1856 the daughter of Jamina and Joe Lancaster of Trigg County.
On January 13, 1876 she was united in marriage to Louis Franklin Luton and to this union were born nine children, 3 boys and 6 girls. Three of the children survive. Mrs Luton was fondly known by all as "Aunt Mollie" and she spent most of her life in Trigg county.
She was a faithful and loyal member of the Cumberland Baptist Church of Golden Pond.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.J. Jenkins on September 8, at 3 p.m. Burial was made at the Luton cemetery at the old home place near Golden Pond.
Surviving are Mrs Rebecca Allen, Golden Pond; Mrs A.L. Jones, Evansville, Ind; and Robert Luton, of Paducah, Ky. Eleven grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Her husband proceeded her in death having passed away in May, 1907. Cadiz Record Sept 1944
