Prominent Citizen Dies At Age Of Eight Two
Passes Away AT His Residence near Mershon's Bridge Saturday Morning
Mr. T. Oakley, who died at the family residence near Mershon's Bridge, on the morning of October 23, was born and reared in Trigg county, and led a quiet life as a farmer, having been noted for his energy before the afflictions of old age confined him to his home. What he accumulated was cheerfully loaned to his neighbor's when they needed it. He was often spoken of as the accommodating lender.
For years on account of his paralyzed condition, he was unable to work or even wait on himself, in the home of his only son, Hugh Oakley, he was carefully provided by the family, Mrs. Oakley being especially noted for her kindness to him.
Mr. Oakley was a consecrated member of the Baptist church at Liberty Point, and when health permitted was always at his post at the services of the church.
