The demise of Mr. Parker was not unexpected.
He had long been a sufferer.
He was a kind husband, an indulgent father, and an affectionate brother. He died on the 17th inst. And was buried on the 18th in the Lacy burying ground. He was a brother of Messrs. Abram and William Parker, and Mrs. Charles and James Lacy. He leaves a wife and five children to mourn his departure.

MORGANFIELD - Amos Leon Parker Sr., 68, died at his home Monday afternoon of an apparent heart attack. He was a retired Morginfield teacher.
He is survived by his wife, Irma; three daughters, Linda Kennedy of Chicago, Daphne Yvonne Parker of Henderson and Athea Marrow of Morganfield; six sons, Amos Leon Jr., James Chester and Donald Parker, all of Chicago, Robert of Sturgis and Dwight and Kieth both of Morganfield; one sister, Agnes Gibens of Indianapolis; and three brothers, Edwin and Ransom, both of Morganfield and James of St. Louis. Arrangement are pending at Whitsell's Funeral Home in Morganfield.

Carl W. PARKER, 65, of 5021 Sweetser, died at 6:40 p.m. yesterday at Welborn Baptist Hospital.Mr. PARKER was a member of Methodist Temple and retired recently due to ill health as treasurer of the church. He was a retired employee of Whirlpool Corp., and a member of Reed Masonic Lodge No. 316. Scottish Rite, Hadi Shrine, and Hadi Shrine Drums and Bugle Corp.
Surviving are his wife, Alj; a son, Lt. Col. Wayne PARKER, administrator of the Crittenden County Hospital in Marion County, Kentucky. Sister, Mrs. Christine CONGER of Evansville; a brother I Jack PARKER of Clay, Kentucky; and three grandchildren.
Arrangements are pending at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel. The family said friends, if they wish, may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Methodist Temple.
Services at 11 a.m. Tomorrow at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel, with burial in Oddfellow Cemetery in Clay, Ky. Friends may call today at the funeral home, where Teed Masonic Lodge will have a memorial service at 7 p.m. today. (January 16 1978 Evansville Press

IRENE PARKER

EVANSVILLE - Irene PARKER, 71, died Tuesday morning at her home, 401 Madison St. She was a former resident of Henderson.
She is survived by three sisters, Salibel HESTER of 131 Cottage Ave., Katherine GARDNER of Route 2, and Louise MCCOSKY of Madison, Ind.; and two brothers, Thomas BERRY of Robards and John BERRY of Henderson.
Arrangements are pending at Miller and Miller Funeral Home in Evansville.

IRMA LEE PARKER

Irma Lee Parker, 77, a resident of Medco Nursing Home in
Morganfield, died on Wednesday, March 4, at 2:40 a.m. at Union County Methodist Hospital.
Her husband, Amos Parker, Sr., a former teacher for 30 years at the Dunbar School and later with the Union County School system, died in 1980.
Mrs. Parker was very active in her job by being president of the Stewardess Board, a member of the missionary society and was the church secretary for a number of years.
Her hobbies included arts and crafts and she especially enjoyed ceramics. She had several creations and designs as well as having taught classes for several years at the senior citizen building when it was located downtown.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Parker, of Chicago, Ill., Althea Morrow and Daphne Yvonne Parker, both of Morganfield; six sons, Amos, Jr., James, Donald, and Keith Parker, all of Chicago, Robert, of Henderson, and Dwight of Morganfield; two sisters, Dorothy Shelton, of Morganfield, and Aline Anderson, of Chicago; one brother, William Ray Rice, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; several grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bowman Chapel C.M.E. Church in Morganfield with her first cousin, Rev. Virgil T. Rice, officiating. Burial was in the Odd Fellow Cemetery in Morganfield.

JIM PARKER

Jim Parker, of the Antioch neighborhood died Monday. He was a local celebrity and is the man who killed Policeman Fuller many years ago. The killing occured in front of where the Wither's block now stands
