WALKER REDD CLAIMED BY DEATH
Prominent Citizen Of Trigg County For Over Half Century
Death came to WALKER REDD at his home in the Donaldson communtiy February 2, following an illness of several
months. He was 76 years of age.
Mr. Red was born in Trigg County March 17, 1875, the son of George L. and Susan Wolfe Redd.
He spent the majority of his life in the same community. He was an outstanding farmer and carpenter and a prominent citizen. He was one of the oldest members of the Linton Masonic Lodge and of the Donaldson Creek Baptist Church.
January 6, 1895, he was married to Miss Melia Williams who precede him in death January 30, 1916,? Nine children were born to this union, two of whom are also deceased, Myrtle, an infant and Mrs. J.R. Meany who died October 7, 1950.
On January 2, 1919 Mr. Redd was remarried to Miss Etna Thomas who passed away October 12, 1938. There were two children born to the union.
On March 22, 1946 he was married to Mrs. Bertie Henson who survives.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:00 from the Goodwin Funeral Home with the Rev. L.L. Terrell officiating. John Ralph Wilson had charge of the song services.
Interment was made in East End Cemetery.
Survivors in addition to the widow, are nine children, Miss Louise Redd, Bowling Green, D.B. Redd, Canton, Bailey Redd, Bowling Green, Obie Redd, Stanford , Col. D.L. Redd, Dayton, Ben Redd, Toledo, Ohio, Mrs. Haydon Curd, Cave City, Mrs. J.P. Adams, Denver, Col, Mrs. Edison Ahart,Colorado Springs; 15 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and one sister, Mrs. Lydia Cox, Linton.
Pallbearers were Roy Dawson, Maxie and Haydon Fowler,
Eison Williams, Vernon Carr and Jim Adams. Flowers were in charge of Misses Minnie Louis Turner and Janet
Sullivan, Mrs. Herbert Carr and Mrs. L.A. Joiner.
