JAMES CLARENCE REDICK, 83, of the Bethesda communtiy died Tuesday, Nov 23 at 11:45 p.m. in Trigg County
Hospital.
He had been in declining health the past four months.
A native of Trigg County, Mr. Redick was born August
23, 1893, son of Lofton D. and Mary Hollowell Redick. He was married to Lurline Sanders January 14, 1919, who survives.
He was a long time resident of the Bethesda community, a retired farmer and member of Bethesda United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held at Goodwin Funeral Home thursday, November 25, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Roger Newell officiating.
Music services were by John D. Minton, Jr., and Mrs. Mae Frankel, with Mrs. Frankel at the organ. Burial was in the Mitchell Grave Yard.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lurline Sanders Redick; three
duaghters, Mrs. Floyd (Margaret) Lancaster, Jr., Trigg county, Mrs. John D. (Betty) Minton, Bowling Green, and Mrs.
C.B. (Dardanella) Durham, Calloway County; three sons, Alfred Redick and James Redick, both of Trigg County, and
Bill Redick of Murray; one brother, Finus Redick Evansville, In; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death July 18, 1937, was a daughter, Laura Redick, and a granddaughter, Betty Lancaster Watkins, in June, 1976.
Active pallbearers were Raymond Allen, Erroll Williamson, D.M. Martin, Bud Mitchell, Gene Tyler, Amos Banister.
Honorary pallbearers were Homer Redick, amos Larkins, John Ralph Wilson, Tandy Mitchell, Hopper Cunningham, Forrest Stephens, Paul Vincent, Kenneth Alexander, Ray Thomas.
