GILBERT O. RIGSBY JR.ELKTON, Ky. -- Services for Gilbert O'Brian Rigsby Jr., 76, Nashville, Tenn., formerly of Elkton, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Latham Funeral Home, with the Rev. Terry Rigsby officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 this afternoon.
He died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, March 5, 2000, at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Nashville, of natural causes.A native of Logan County, he was born Nov. 14, 1923, the son of the late Gilbert and Julia Ann Carter Rigsby. He was an Army veteran. He was preceded in death by a son, Mitchell Rigsby.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Joyce Rigsby; five sons, Roger, Ronnie and Darryl Rigsby, all of Nashville, Lindell and Terry Rigsby, both of Elkton; three daughters, Rita Ervyhart, Springfield, Tenn., Martha J. Rogers, La Vergne, Tenn., Debbie Turner, Elkton; a half-brother, Julius Whitman, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a sister, Mary Frances Austin, California; 19 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
