FLORENCE CLARK ROGERSIn Memory: In loving remembrance of our dear daughter Florence Clark ROGERS, who departed this life one year
ago January 8th.
Yes twelve long months have passed.
Tho sweet memories linger still of many kind deeds you did for us.
While your earthly mission did fill.
But a gold gate was open wide.

Welcomed our loved one home.

U. L. Rogers Dies At Seventy-Eight
Complication Of Troubles Causes Death of Wealthy Citizen of County
Deceased Had Spent Entire Life In Trigg County And Was Never Married
Mr. U. L. Rogers, one of Trigg county's most wealthy citizens, died Tuesday morning at 6:40 at his home near Linton. His condition had been quite critical for two weeks or more and death was not a surprise to his relatives and friends.
He had been in poor health for some time, but took to his bed just twenty one days before his death, which was caused by a complications of troubles.
Mr. Rogers had spent his entire life in Trigg, and died where he was born and reared and where he had always lived. His birthday was last Sunday, September 14th, which was his seventy-eighth birthday.
His father's name was Ben S. Rogers, and the mother was a Miss Lancaster, both of whom have been dead for many years.
Mr. Rogers never had any brothers, and four sisters are dead. They were Mrs. Fidella S. Carr, of near Linton; Mrs. R. J. Grigsby, of near Tuggleville; Mrs. A. W. Sholar, of near Linton, and Mrs. Pinkney Carr of the Saline creek section in the extreme southern section of the county.
Mr. Rogers had always been what might be called a home man. He seldom went away, and some years ago a number of years went by when he did not leave his home and for several years during that time he never went to the little town of Linton, although living within a mile of its borders.
In matters of financial nature, he had been quite successful, and at his death was regarded as one of the wealthiest citizens of all Trigg county. Several thousand acres of land, some of it in Christian county and in other sections than Trigg, were among his holdings.
He had never united with the church, but was a member of the Masonic lodge years ago, but demitted when Linton lodge went down and never rejoined when the lodge was revived some years ago.
He enjoyed his friends and the companionship of his neighbors, and while he seldom went among them, he was always delighted when they came to his home, where a welcome always awaited them.
Burial took place yesterday afternoon at the family burying ground on the place where he was born and had always resided, a large crowd being present to pay a last tribute of respect.
