Heart Attack Fatal To Guy B Rose
Was Prominent in WOW Circles and Well Known in Western Kentucky Business and Civic Leader of City A heart
attack suffered at his home in East Cadiz last Saturday evening, September 23, claimed the life of Guy Burnett Rose,
widely known and well liked business man of Cadiz.
Mr Rose had gone about his duties as usual all day Saturday. He closed his Service Station at six o'clock and went to his home. The fatal attacked occurred at about midnight.
Prominent in the cities civic life Mr Rose was a member of the Cadiz Lions Club and an officer in the local post of the
Woodmen of the World, having served as Consul Commander since 1934. He was a member of the WOW since the age of 19 years.
He was born in the southern part of Trigg county on March 23, 1903, the son of Mr Sam and Mrs Sallie Carr Rose and received his education in the county schools.
On November 26, 1927 he was united in marriage to Miss Annie Hillman, the daughter of the late Dr. H.H. and Etta Husk Hillman.
Mr Rose was widely esteemed throughout this whole section of Western Kentucky. This was proved by the tributes which were sent in by his many patrons and friends. His loyalty to his family and fairness and integrity to his business associates were outstanding characteristics.
Funeral services were held from the home of the deceased at 3 o'clock Tuesday September 25. Rev. J.A. Vire, officiated. Burial was made at East End Cemetery.
The pallbearers were J.C. Gordon, Guy Cunningham, John Bell Mason, Bingham Stephens, Hubert Mitchell and W.H. Rawls. Honorary pallbearers were several members of the local WOW Post, H.P. Atwood, W.C. Broadbent, Dr. N.C. Magraw, T.H. Watkins, Porter Piercy and A.C. Burnette.
The members of the Cadiz Lions Club were in charge of the floral offerings. A quartet composed of Mrs Ruth Piercy, Mrs Earle Glenn, Mrs Bingham Stephens and Mr Pollard White sang.
Surviving are his wife, two brothers, Norman Rose, of Gainsville, Florida, and Dorris Rose of Trigg county. Among those attending the funeral from a distance were John D McAtee, Lexington; Major O.B. McAtee and Mrs. O.B. McAtee, Danville, Ky; Mr and Mrs G. Norman Rose, Gainsville, Fla; Bill Walker, Clarksville, Tenn., Mrs Dee Thomas, Mrs N.E. Morgin, Mrs Dewey Elliott, all of Bumpus Mills, Tenn; J.W. Reed, Hopkinsville; Ben Ezell, Mr and Mrs Edgar Ezell, Mrs Dan Howell, Clint Rodgers, Mrs Clote Ezell and Eunice Bronson, all of Big Rock Tenn; Chafin Moorefield, Paducah; and Mr and Mrs Dave Turner, of Christian County.

Kinley Rose Found Dead In Bed
Prominent South Trigg County Citizen Passes Away At Seventy
Mr. Kinly Rose, a well known and prominent farmer living near Carr's Store in the southern section of the county, was found dead in bed at his home last Thursday morning.
Mr. Rose resided on his farm along and was found by neighbors who called at his home. He had been a sufferer from heart affection, and this is probably the cause of his death.
Mr. Rose was about seventy years of age and was a bachelor, and had resided in that section of Trigg county all his life. He was the son of Tom Rose, long deceased, and is survived by two sisters, Mrs. John Hester and Mrs. Clate Ezell.
Mr. Rose was an Old Baptist in religion and was a man held in high esteem by his neighbors and friends,
Burial took place at the Rose family grave yard near his home.
