Murdered Young Man of Wheatcroft Commits Double Crime In street Of Town
Wheatcroft, Ky: Abe Wallace, age 19, shot and killed fifteen year old wife and then committed suicide by shooting
himself.
The double tragedy occured in the street about 8'oclock Monday evening.
Wallace and his wife had been married about six months. The wife had left him several times and they were living apart at the time of the tragedy.
Mrs Wallace had been staying with relatives near town. Wallace went to see her twice Sunday to try to induce her to
return and life with him, but was not successful. Almost 8o'clock in the evening and her walking with a girl friend,
shoving the girl aside, he shot his wife over the right eye. Immediately, afterwards he placed the pistol to his side and
shot himself. Death in each case was almost instantaneous. Caldwell Co. 1906
ARTHUR WALLACEThe body of ARTHUR WALLACE, 52 years old, was found on a little used road near the Cumberland Church between the rivers early Monday morning by JOHN POGUE, who had gone out to shoot crows.
The man had been dead for about 48 hours when he was found, according to a conclusion by Dr. H.L. WALLACE, coroner of Trigg County, who viewed the body. There was no sign of violence about the body and it is thought that he suffered a heart attack.
The coroner's jury arrived at this verdict. He was last seen Saturday morning when he left his home apparently on his way to Bleidt near his home and is thought to have taken a short cut across the graveyard at the church and behind the church where an old road used to go. His people did not become alarmed at his absence until Sunday as he was in the
habit of being away from home all night. when he did not return Sunday a search was instituted for him. POGUE
who found the body, was not searching for him, but accidently discovered the body which had started to decompose.
MR. WALLACE was a former teacher in the schools of this county and for many years was a farmer.
He was the father of seven sons and three girls, who survive him. Two sets of twins are included in the number. His wife also survives as does his parents, MR AND MRS JOE WALLACE, one brother, ROY WALLACE and one sister, MRS. JAP

Mrs. Jane Wallace Dies At Rock Castle
Was Sixty-Eight Years Of Age And A Miss McConnell Before Her Marriage
Husband and Three Sons Killed By Lightning Twenty Eight Years Ago
Mrs. Jane Wallace, a beloved Christian woman living at Rock Castle died last Thursday afternoon at her home.
She had been in poor health for some time, and a stroke of paralysis hastened the end.
Mrs. Wallace was a Miss McConnell before her marriage and was past sixty-eight years of age.
The two living daughters are Miss Pearl Wallace and Mrs. Alex Cunningham.
She was a Baptist in religion and for many years had been a member of the church at Hurricane. As a neighbor and friend, as a wife and mother, Mrs. Wallace was a true Christian character and in doing good to others she herself reaped her greatest pleasure. She had hosts of friends, and all are made to grieve in her death.
The death of Mrs. Wallace recalled the tragic death of her husband, the late John J. Wallace, and the three sons, who were killed by lightening while sheltered under a tree during a rain storm near Trigg Furnace twenty-eight years ago.
The writer remembers the four coffins leaving Cadiz, and many yet living were at the funeral and burial of four members of one family, a sight seldom witnessed in any section or in any community.
The burial of Mrs. Wallace took place last Friday afternoon at the family burying ground on the old Jack Wallace place near Brewer' Spring in Trigg Furnace section and funeral services were conducted by Rev. John t. Cunningham of Princeton.
Many sorrowing relatives and friends were present to pay a last tribute of respect to a good Christian woman.
