THIS INDENTURE, made the 13th day of September,1836, between Enoch Spears of Floyd County and State of Kentucky of the one part and Lington Flanry of said County and State aforesaid of the other part,witnesseth that the said Enoch Spears for and in consideration of the sum of twenty five dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath and by these presents do grant,bargain,sell and confirm unto the said Lingleton Flanry his heirs,and etc., forever one certain tract piece or parcel of land lying and being in Floyd County aforesaid and on Johns Creek containing fifty acres by survey and bounded as follows,to wit; beginning on the north side of the long branch at a black oak on a hill side;thence running S 16 X 200 polce to a strike N 74, W 40 polce to a stake N 16 E 200 polce to a stake S 74 E 40 polce to the beginning which said tract or parcel of land to have and to hold with all and singular the benefits emoluments thereunto belonging or in any way appertaining thereunto I the said Enoch Spears do forever warrant and defend to him the said "Lingleton Flanry" his heirs & etc.,forever against myself and my heirs and against any person claiming in through or by either of us but against no other whatsoever.
