MANLEY, EVERETT B.
Everett Boyd Manley, 62, of Manley Lane, West Liberty, died Thursday, March 16, 2006 at his residence following an extended illness. Born July 7, 1943 at Sharpsburg, in Bath County, Kentucky, Everett was a son of Addison Ewell Manley and Delphia Ann Wells Manley of Manley Lane, West Liberty. He was a truck driver for a rock quarry. Everett accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his saviour and attended New Salem Church at Moon, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Otto Everett and Nellie Frances Hawkins Manley ; his maternal grandparents, Lynn Boyd and Lida Margaret Rupe Wells; and one niece, Amy Yvonne Young. Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife, Alice Faye Terry Manley ; three daughters, Tammy Manley of Louisville, Tabitha and Logan Helton, and Leatha and Greg McKenzie , all of West Liberty ; four grandchildren, Jeana Guess, Tanner McKenzie, Layla McKenzie, and Jordan Helton ; one brother, Otis and Myrna Manley of Cape Canaveral, Florida ; five sisters, Judy and Robert Wright of Flat Gap, Bonita and Dennie Cantrell of Piqua, Ohio, Lynn Burt, Frances Young, and Paula and Greg Adkins, all of West Liberty ; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 19 at New Salem Church with Elder James Wallin, Bro. Rick Pelfrey, and Rev. Jimmy Tharp officiating. Burial followed in the Manley Family Cemetery, Hwy. 437, West Liberty with Herald and Stewart and Halsey Funeral Home of West Liberty in charge of arrangements. Active pallbearers were his nephews. Honorary pallbearers were Martha Legg, Andrew Legg, Johnny Cantrell, Ernest Smith, Darris Smith, Wendell Riggsby, Charles Tharp, Jimmy Tharp, Shorty Terry, Luke Stover, Phillip Reber, Joseph Schueler, Kenny Cantrell, and Morgan Wright.

MANN, ANNETTE C.
Annette Cecil Mann, 76, of Lexington died Wednesday, February 1,2006 at Samaritan Hospital. Born at Hazel Green, Kentucky Annette was the daughter of the late Samuel D. and Daisy Murphy Cecil. She was retired from Kroger after 30 plus years of service and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Mount Sterling. Survivors include her children, Charlotte Garvin of Bowling Green, Phillip Mann of Frankfort, and Kim Blake of Lexington ; 9 grandchildren ; 3 great-grandchildren ; a brother, Albert B. Cecil of Hazel Green ; and a sister, Nora Rose of Texas. A private funeral service was conducted Saturday, February 4 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home in Lexington. Burial followed in the Lexington Cemetery with Kerr Brothers Funeral Home of Lexington in charge of arrangements.

MANTLE, IRENE FAYE
Irene Faye Mantle, 80 , of Lebanon, Ohio, died peacefully Monday, October 31, 2005 at Hospice of Dayton. Born June 13, 1925 at Crockett, Kentucky Irene was a daughter of Lee and Ada Fannin Skaggs. She was a graduate of Wilmington College and had also attended classes at Morehead College. Irene had taught school for two years at Crockett as well as Waynesville Schools and Lebanon City Schools in Ohio where she retired from teaching third grade in 1980. She was a member of the Ohio Retired Teacher`s Association, the Warren County Retired Teacher`s Association where she had been treasurer, and the Wilmington College Alumni Association. In addition to her parents Irene was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kelley Mantle in 1989 ; two sisters, Clarice Haithcock and Edna Gibson. Survivors include her loving and caring husband, Roy Arthur Mantle ; one son, Roy Lee Mantle and wife Bonnie of Leesburg, Virginia ; one daughter, Patricia Kathleen Mantle of Mason, Ohio ; one brother, Kermit Skaggs of Colorado Springs, Colorado ; and one sister, Myrl Galbraith of Hillsboro, Kentucky. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, November 5 at Stine Kilburn Funeral Home in Lebanon, Ohio with Pastor Lester Jones officiating. Burial followed in the Lebanon Cemetery with Stine Kilburn Funeral Home of Lebanon, Ohio in charge of arrangements. MCKENZIE, SANDRA
Sandra Kay McKenzie, 60, of Salyersville, niece of Ray Terrell, died Sunday, January 8,2006 at Salyersville Health Care Center. She was born Monday, November 5,1945 in Huntington, West Virginia a daughter of the late Delbert and Lida Terrell McKenzie. Survivors include two uncles, Ray Terrell and wife Loretta of Highway 205, Grassy Creek and Bob McKenzie of Credo, West Virginia. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 11 at Potter Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold Keeton officiating. Burial followed in the Terrell Cemetery of Cannel City with Potter Funeral Home of West Liberty in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were family.

MEADOWS, ORNE
Orne Black Meadows, 76, of Lexington, formerly of Morgan County, died Saturday, March 11, 2006 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. She was born January 11, 1930 at Blaze, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Ralph Black and Pearl Cox Black. Orene was a retired Square D assembly worker and member of Eastland Christian Church in Lexington. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, W. Ford Meadows. Survivors include two sons, John Meadows of Portland, Oregon and Steve Meadows and wife Tammy of Lexington ; one brother, Cecil Black of Fairborn, Ohio ; four sisters, Wilma Reed of West Liberty , Bessalene McKenzie of Poland, Indiana, Reva Sargent of Lexington , and Leatha Cutshaw of Scottsdale, Arizona ; four grandchildren, Sarah K. Meadows, Dalton Ford Meadows, Heather Monahan, and Brittney Hightower. Graveside services were conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 15 at the Henry Cemetery at Index with Rev. James Allen officiating. Burial followed with Herald and Stewart and Halsey Funeral Home of West Liberty in charge of arrangements. Active pallbearers were friends and relatives. Honorary pallbearers were Dalton Ford Meadows.

MILLS, VIRGIL
Virgil Mills, 82, of Covington, formerly of Morgan County, died Thursday, March 23, 2006 at University Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio. Born April 4, 1923 at Knox, Kentucky, Virgil was a son of the late Robert Mills and Effie Mills Mills. He was a retired embalmer and funeral director, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and member of Williams Creek Elkfork Community Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Mills ; and three brothers, Chester, John, and T.J. Mills. Survivors include one step-son, Darrell Williams of Dayton, Ohio ; one step-daughter, Ivette Weaver of Dayton, Ohio ; three sisters, Della Wies of Park Hills, Eula Downey of Taylor Mill, and Virginia Miller of Lexington; two brothers, Robert Mills Jr. of Glencoe, and Ben Mills of Decatur, Alabama ; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 25 at Herald and Stewart and Halsey Chapel with Rev. Robert Lee Mills III officiating. Burial followed in the Sanford Williams Cemetery at Rockhouse with Herald and Stewart and Halsey Funeral Home of West Liberty in charge of arrangements. Military graveside service was conducted by Morgan County DAR. Pallbearers were friends and relatives.

MOORE, DEWEY DALLAS JR.
Dewey Dallas Moore, Jr., 22, of Sandy Hook, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2006 at Elliottsville, Kentucky as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was born February 22, 1984 at Morehead, Kentucky a son of Dewey Dallas Moore, Sr. and Glenna Kay Jenkins Moore of Sandy Hook. D.J. was a member of Lick Branch Enterprise Baptist Church, a member of Hepburn Lodge 576 F&AM , a member of the Citico Volunteer Fire Department, and was a farmer. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Thurman Moore.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Brian Keith Moore of Sandy Hook ; his paternal grandmother, Hester Moore of Sandy Hook ; his maternal grandparents, William Henry and Fay Cremeans Jenkins of West Liberty. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Heather Caudill. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, April 3 at Lewis and Ferguson Funeral Home with ministers , Daris Hammonds, Jimmy Conley, Jimmy Tharpe, and Dale Prewitt officiating. Burial followed in the Elliott County Memory Gardens at Sandy Hook with Lewis and Ferguson Funeral Home of Sandy Hook in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Jeff Eldridge, Ronnie Stephens, Jamie Stephens, Allen Hartman, Donnie Stephens, Jason Stephens. Honorary pallbearers were members of Hepburn Lodge 576 F&AM and all of his church family.

Lola Christine Blankenship Moore, 87 , of Blaze Road, West Liberty, died Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at Morgan County Appalachian Regional Hospital in West Liberty. Born August 3,1918 in Morgan County,Kentucky Lola was a daughter of the late Garfield Blankenship and Minnie Phillips Blankenship. She was a homemaker, and member of the Blaze Community Church at Blaze. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 3 infant daughters and 2 infant sons. Survivors include her husband, Willie Otis Moore ; two daughters, April Edna Marie Gartin and husband Sam of Dayton, Ohio and Aneta J. Garland and husband Ted of Springboro, Ohio ; four sons, Vernon Moore and wife Classie of West Liberty, Vondal Moore and wife Clara and J.C. Moore and Mary Jane Whittington, all of Miamisburg,Ohio and Kenneth R. Moore of Centerville,Ohio ; two sisters, Nannie Hughes of Newport,Kentucky and Alene Eagle of Clearfield ; 14 grandchildren ; 36 great-grandchildren ; and 26 plus great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, January 13 at Herald and Stewart and Halsey Chapel with Rev. Vernon Lewis and Rev. Eugene Haney officiating. Burial followed in the Blankenship Cemetery, Hickory Road, West Liberty with Herald and Stewart and Halsey Funeral Home of West Liberty in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Michael Moore, Kenny Moore, Vondal Moore, Brad Elam, J.C. Moore, and Vernon Moore.

Rodney T. Murphy, 60, of Middletown, Ohio, died Sunday, November
27,2005 at the V.A. Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. He was born January
6,1945 in Morgan County, Kentucky a son of the late Thomas and Hazel
Murphy. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He is
survived by his son, Darco L. Murphy and wife Tamera ; three daughters,
Cheree L. Sheffield and husband Tim, Tamee R. Murphy, and Angela K.
Geary and husband Matthew ; 8 grandchildren;
Two brothers, Kelly “ Jack “ Murphy and Bill Murphy ; sisters, Martha
Pridemore, Jan Gillman, Glenda Dungan, and Sharon Wood, all residing in
Middletown, Monroe, and Trenton ,Ohio areas. Funeral services were
conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, December 2 at Baker-Stevens Funeral Home in
Middletown,Ohio. Interment followed at Butler County Memorial Park.
Military rites were conducted at the graveside by American Legion Post
# 218 Color Guard. Baker-Stevens Funeral Home of Middletown, Ohio was
in charge of arrangements.
