PATRICK, HERSCHELL D.
Herschell D. Patrick, 83, of Highway 203, Hazel Green, died Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at Morgan County Appalachian Regional Hospital in West Liberty. He was born Friday, April 14, 1922 at Rockhouse, Kentucky a son of the late Robert and Goldie Coffee Patrick. Herschell was a retired machine operator from Champion Paper and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Denzil Chelsey Patrick and James Denver Patrick ; two sisters, Cassie Faye Patrick and Sylvia Mae Patrick. Survivors include his wife, Wilma Oldfield Patrick of Hwy. 203, Hazel Green ; two sisters, Jeanette Patrick of Middletown, Ohio and Shirley Waddle of Cincinnati,Ohio ; one brother, Chiles Patrick ; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 17 at Potter Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mike Frisby officiating. Burial followed in the Oldfield Cemetery, Hwy. 203, Hazel Green, with Potter Funeral Home of West Liberty in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were David Nickell, Terry Nickell, Greg White, Gary Cole, Wayne Cole, and Marvin Cole. Military rites were conducted at the graveside by Morgan County D.A.V.

PELFREY, GLADYS
Gladys Marie Benton Pelfrey, 95 , of Louisville, formerly of Cannel City, died Monday, September 19, 2005 at the residence of a niece. She was born Thursday, July 21, 1910 at Caney, Kentucky , a daughter of the late J. W. and Lula Frances Morris Benton. She was a homemaker and member of the Church of God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Pelfrey ; two sisters, Flora Patrick and Wilma Howard ; and two brothers, Chalmer Benton and Velmar Benton. Survivors include a special niece, Shirley and Otis Walter of Louisville ; a step-daughter, Virginia and Lewis Daniel of Indianapolis, Indiana ; two step-grandchildren, Robert Daniel and wife Ellen of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Jeanette Cohen and husband Norm of Snow Mast, Colorado ; 3 step great-grandchildren ; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 22, at Potter Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Lindon and Bro. Edwin Benton officiating. Burial followed in the Morris Cemetery at Caney with Potter Funeral Home of West Liberty in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Larry Benton, Gene Cravens, Anthony Howard, Alvin Howard, Phillip Elam, and Edwin Benton.

PERKINS, BURLLIE C.
Burllie C. Perkins, 57, of Rockhouse Fork Road, Salyersville, died Monday, December 5, 2005 at Paul B. Hall Medical Center. Mr. Perkins was born May 2, 1948 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, a son of the late Warick Perkins and Pauline Prater Perkins. He was a retired car salesman, a Vietnam veteran of the U. S. Army, and member of the Pentecostal Church. In additional to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Warrick Thomas Perkins, George Franklin Perkins, and Steve Allen Perkins ; and one sister, Norma Jean Perkins. Survivors include his wife, Linda Gibson Perkins ; two daughters, Paula Cole and husband James of Bellfountaine, Ohio, and Rachel Francis and husband Neil of Valdosta, Georgia ; four brothers, William Perkins and Gregory Lynn Perkins , both of Salyersville , Carl D. Perkins of Centerville, Missouri, and Billy Ray Perkins of Westerville, Ohio ; four sisters, Mildred Conley of Springfield, Ohio, Ruby Smith of Naples, Florida, Janey Fay Adkins of Tipp City, Ohio, and Rebecca Kelly of Hamilton, Ohio ; and 4 grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, December 8 at New Life Worship Center at Salyersville with ministers Robert Collinsworth and Terry Lykins officiating. Burial followed in the Perkins Family Cemetery on Rockhouse Road with Magoffin County Funeral Home of Salyersville in charge of arrangements.

PERRY, JOSEPH Q.
Joseph Q. Perry , 97 , of Middletown, Ohio, died Thursday, October 6, 2005 at Willow Knoll Retirement Community. He was born at Mize, Kentucky on April 28, 1908 , a son of the late Kelly and Sarah Cecil Perry. Mr. Perry served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He worked as a spindle drill operator for NCR for 28 years retiring in 1970 and he was a member of Breiel Blvd. Church of God. Joseph is survived by numerous nieces and nephews ; three step-children, David Crow, Elizabeth McNeice and Olivia Reynolds ; and 3 step-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lora J. Perry in 1983 ; second wife, Ellen T. Perry in 2003 ; his parents ; a brother, Ira Perry ; and a sister, Cora Stamper. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 8 at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home in Middletown, Ohio with interment following at Butler County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions were suggested to the charity of donor`s choice.

William “ Bill “ Monroe Peyton, 61 , of Bill Peyton Road, West Liberty, died Wednesday, January 11,2006 at his residence. Mr. Peyton was born Tuesday, December 5,1944 in Morgan County,Kentucky a son of the late Ova Forrest and Allie Margaret Peyton Peyton. He was a carpenter and truck driver, and a member of the Church of Christ at Frenchburg. Survivors include his wife, Twila Sue Noble Peyton; three children, Ova Monroe Peyton and wife Melissa, Margaret Taulbee and husband Emerson and Anthony Wayne Peyton and girlfriend Linda,all of West Liberty ; six grandchildren, Twila perkins, Michelle Preston, Lee Taulbee, Josh Perkins, and Rejonna Ratliff ; one great-grandchild, William Lee Preston ; eight brothers, Delbert and Betty Peyton and Marita Lynn and David cade,all of Ezel, Robert and Maureen Peyton, Merle and Judy Peyton, Gay Nell Cox, and Anna Adkins, all of West Liberty, Diana Gail Montgomery and husband Jimmy and Alberta Marlene Peyton,all of Ohio. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, January 13 at Potter Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Randy Imel officiating. Burial followed in Peyton Cemetery at Kellacey with Potter Funeral Home of West Liberty in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Chris Peyton, Lee Taulbee, Curtis Adkins, Steven Preston, Tim Perkins, Dale Bailey, John Gibson, Dave Evans, Billy Osborne, and Marty Adkins.

POTTER, LEBERTA LOU MAY
Leberta Lou May Potter, 66 years, 3 months, 18 days, died Saturday, April 1, 2006 at Morgan County Appalachian Regional Hospital in West Liberty. She was born Tuesday, December 14, 1939 in White Oak, Kentucky a daughter of the late Bert Denzil and Lelia Patrick May. Leberta was a retired postmaster serving 28 years at the White Oak Post Office. She was deputy clerk at the County Court Clerk`s Office, a member of the White Oak Christian Church where she served as the handbell choir director. Leberta was a member of the Elvis Presley Fan Club, and member of the Morgan County Historical Society where she serves as president for several years. She also held memberships in the Red Hat Society and Help Us Help You, and served on the County Extension Board. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Sharon Hopkins ; and a nephew, Timothy Frederick.
Survivors include her children, Denzil and Brenda Potter, Rayette and Austin Thornberry, and Jennifer and Gene Whitaker, all of Cottle ; LeAnn and Brian Lindon of Stacy Fork and Robin and Greg Gullett of Malone ; grandchildren, Aaron Calvin Potter, Brianna Lindon, Andrew Lindon, Raylee Ann Whitaker, Alex Gullett, and Lindsay Gullett ; one step-grandchild, Kelsie Whitaker ; one sister, Juanita and Grover Frederick of West Liberty ; nieces, Connie Crosby, Coleen Kegley, Joleen Frederick ; nephews, Dr. James Frederick and Barrett Frederick ; a host of cousins ; and her little dog, Elvis. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, April 3 at White Oak Christian Church with Rev. Rick Pelfrey and Elder Jimmy Adkins officiating. Burial followed in the Allen Cemetery at White Oak with Potter Funeral Home of West Liberty in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Gene Whitaker, Brian Lindon, Aaron Potter, Austin Thornberry, Randy Williams, Dr. James Frederick, David Potter, Herman Spears, Greg Gullett, and Grady Kegley. Memorials were suggested to White Oak Christian Church.

PRICE, LOUCINDA CLARK
Mrs. Loucinda Clark Price, died Sept. 16 at the home of her grandson Carl Price. She was 84 years old. She had been a member of the United Baptist Church for a number of years and lived a Christian life. Mrs. Price had been a victim of rheumatism for 15 years, not having walked a step for that length of time. Although she endured her afflictions patiently, trusting in the One that is giver of all that is good. In her early life she was in matrimony to G. W. Price, a Baptist minister. He has been dead several years. To this union were born seven children all of who are dead except the youngest son, Tom, of Soldier. She is survived by her son, a sister, Mrs. Mima Rice, of Halterman. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. John Burchwell. She was laid to rest in the family burying ground Thursday after her death.

Funeral Held For Silver Hill Woman
Lick Branch, Feb. 22 – ( By Mrs. Delena Shaver) – Funeral services were
conducted Saturday Feb. 13 for Mrs. Louesana Price who passed away at
the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bazie Dulin. She was the daughter of
John and Rheumma Brown, deceased. Also preceding her in death were her
first husband, George W. Price and three children. He second husband,
Milford Smith, passed away about a year ago at Fairborn, Ohio.
Surviving are seven children: Lloyd Smith of Fairborn, Ohio; Mrs. Ova
Adkins, Wheelersburg, Ohio; Mrs. Delena Phipps, Portsmouth, Ohio;
Luther Smith of Mima; Rutherford Price of West Liberty, and Mrs. Vannie
Dulin of Silver Hill; two brothers and one sister, Leander Brown of
Ohio, Frank Brown of Moon, and Mrs. Sallie Sherman of Beaver, Ohio.
Aunt Lou, as she was called by all who knew her, had made her home with
her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Bazie Dulin at Silver for the past ten
years. She was a member of the church since her early teens and at the
time of her death she was a member of Mt. Carmel Church at Silver Hill.
She was loved by all and had a hand shake and smile for everyone. She
was a grandmother of the Lick Branch news reporter.

PRIEST, IMO GENE
Imo Gene Priest, 71, of Middletown, Ohio died Friday, October 28, 2005 at her residence. She was born August 1, 1934 in West Liberty, Kentucky a daughter of the late Noah and Alta Cox. Imo Gene was a member of Zag Community Church and was a past member of the Buckeye Blossom Quilt Guild. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Harold Preist ; one daughter, Eva Burke and husband Charles of Trenton, Ohio ; a son, Rick Priest and wife Donna of Middletown, Ohio ; three grandchildren, Jennifer Marie Gabbard and husband Pat, Michael Burke and wife Natalie, and Jason Priest and wife Erica Marie ; two great-grandchildren, Noah Patrick Gabbard and Ethan Michael Gabbard ; and many loving relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Imo Gene was preceded in death by five sisters, Jewell Patrick, Hattie Gray, Viola Blevins, Bertha Hunt, and Frona Cox ; and five brothers, Grover Cox, Earl Cox, Ray Cox, Glenn Cox, and Stanley Cox. Funeral services were conducted at noon Wednesday, November 2 at Baker-Stevens Funeral Home with Rev. James H. Mullins Sr. officiating. Interment followed in the Butler County Memorial Park with Baker-Stevens Funeral Home in Middletown, Ohio in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions were suggested to Hospice of Dayton , 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45420.
