J.D. Borders, 63, of Salyersville, died Thursday Jul.06 2000 in Morgan County Appalachian Regional Hospital. Mr. Borders was born Sept. 10, 1936, in Magoffin County, a son of the late Dixon and Ethel Howard Borders. He was a retired aircraft weapons mechanic and a U.S. Air Force veteran who served during the Korean War. Surviving are two brothers, Patton Borders of Kettering, Ohio, and Ernest Borders of Mount Sterling, Ohio; three sisters, Ruby McCarty of Portsmouth, Va., Laura Conley of Delaware, Ohio, and Margie Barnett of Mount Sterling; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Dunn-Kelly/Prater & Dunn Funeral Home in Salyersville by Mike Tackett. Burial will be in High Springs Cemetery in Florida.
