Leo Murphy
Leo Murphy, 76, of Camden, Ohio, died Friday, April 26, 2002, at
Middletown Regional Hospital.
He was born in Morgan County, Ky., on Aug. 2, 1925, to Dillon and Hazel
(Havens) Murphy. He was a World War II Navy veteran. Mr. Murphy had
retired from Armco Steel Co. in 1973. He was the former
owner of Murphy's Antiques Store in Gratis for 32 years.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marquedlita Murphy of Camden;
a son, Glen A Murphy of Gratis, Ohio; a daughter, Marla Murphy of
Middletown, Ohio; two grandchildren, Shawn Murphy and Amy Lanford, and a
great-granddaughter, Hannah Lanford; a sister, Mary Lou Combs of
Middletown; dear mother-in-law, Elsie Hanks of Camden; brother-in-law
Gene Wilson of Middletown; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a twin brother, Cleo Murphy, and another
brother, Woody Murphy; and his parents.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 29,
at the First Brethren Church in Gratis with the Rev. Robert French
officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the
church on Sunday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. for visitation.
Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home in Gratis is in charge of arrangements.
