LEILA FUGATE SEXTON


MORGAN NATIVE
DIES IN ROWAN

A Morgan county native, Mrs. Leila Fugate Sexton, 80, died Sept. 21 at
her home in Morehead. A daughter of Joel and Alice Trimble Deborde,
she was born in Morgan County in 1879. She was first married to James
Fugate, who preceded her in death, and later to A. J. Sexton.
Both preceded her in death. She was a member of the First Church of God.

Funeral was conducted in the First Church of God in Morehead by Rev. M.
L. Tate and burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Garden.

Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Grace Christy, Morehead; and Mrs.
Nina Bocook of Hitchens; one brother: James Deborde of Payton, Ky; one
half-sister: Mrs. Lillie Picklesimer, Ashland; 13 grandchilden and 10
great-grandchildren. One daughter and two sons preceeded her in death.

She was married to James Martin Van Buren Fugate (son of Zachariah
Taylor Fugate and Mary Lou Frazeir) on 19 Aug 1900 in Rowan Co., KY.
