Patton Fugate, 95, died at the home of his son, Floyd Fugate at Licking
River, Friday morning and was buried Sunday, Feb. 19 at the cemetery in
Neal Valley near West Liberty.
Born in Scott County, Virginia, he came to Morgan County when he was
three years old with his parents, James and Mary Fugate, in 1855. He had
lived the remainder of his life at Licking River.
He was first married to Lizzie Turner who preceded him in death several
years ago. He next married Alice Neal who preceded him in death and then
he married Julia Neal who also preceded him in death a few years ago.
He is survived by three sons: Floyd Fugate of Licking River; Buford
Fugate of Middletown, Ohio; and Elmer Fugate of Midland, Ohio.
Officiating ministers at funeral services were Jim Turner, Russell Brown
and Kirby Williams.
(He was born 18 Feb 1857 in Scott Co.,VA. He was the grandson of William
Fugate and Lydia Tate.)
