Mrs. Dorothy Lena Abney, age 96 of Oak Hill, died Sunday, Oct. 17 at her home. She was born in Rockcastle County on July 15, 1908 the daughter of Larkin and Alice McGuire Abney. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

She is survived by four sons, Jack Abney (Kathleen) of Colby, WI, Kenneth Abney (Helen) of Brodhead, and Glen Abney (Betty) and Cecil Abney (Syvil), both of Mt. Vernon; and one daughter, Gail DeLeon (Tony) of Mt. Vernon. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Abney; two sons, Douglas Wayne Abney and Virgil Abney; 4 grandsons; 7 brothers; and 3 sisters.
