Carol L. Allen

Carol L. Allen, age 68, of Hamilton, passed away in Mercy Hospital of Fairfield on Thursday, November 27, 2003, at 12:46 a.m. She was born in Mt. Vernon, [Rockcastle County], Kentucky, on July 5, 1935, the daughter of James and Rosa (Farmer) Henson. Carol was a member of the Faith Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher and was employed as a machine operator for Avon Products for 20 years, retiring in 1987. On May 1, 1954, in Jellico, Tennessee, she was married to Curtis Caldwell, and he preceded her in death in 1978; on April 14, 1979, in Wyoming, Ohio, she was married to Clyde Allen.

She is survived by her husband, Clyde Allen of Hamilton; one son, James and his wife Carol Caldwell of Bright, Indiana; two daughters, Vicki Vail of Hamilton and Sherry and her husband Mike Stover of Milford. She is also survived by one step-son, Rodney and his wife Sue Allen of Liberty, Indiana and one step-daughter, Rita Allen of Connersville, Indiana; three sisters, Nancy Burton, Maggie Lucas, both of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky and Cora Smith of Fayetteville, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Chelsea, Logan and Sarah; and six step-grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Walter Henson; four sisters, Sarah Owens, Jean Hasty, Johnetta Henson and Mary Rowlette.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, December 2, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. George Brad of the First Baptist Church of Loveland, Ohio, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
