Bettie F. Atwood

StANFORD -- Bettie F. Atwood, 87, of Brodhead, formerly of Stanford, died Friday at Rockcastle County Hospital. Born May 2, 1916, she was the daughter of the late James and Martha Kidd VanHook. She was a retired clerk at Coleman's Drugstore and member of Fairview Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Loren E. Atwood. She was the widow of Walter Elmer Leece and was preceded in death by her son, Keith Leece. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Spurlin Funeral Home by the Rev. Randall Adams. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Freddie Fox, J. VanHook, Roger Kelley, Mike Stafford, Alfred Harris Pence, Jr. and Jerry Atwood.
