Amos Beecher Ballinger,
80, of Richmond, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, unexpectedly at Reid Hospital.
He was born July 26, 1923, in Rockcastle County, Ky., to Marion and Addie Anglin
Ballinger, living in Richmond until 1957. He and his wife then lived in
California and returned to Richmond in 1987.
He retired from Emmick Investment Co. and was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was a member of Kirk Little VFW Post 1108 and Harry Ray American Legion Post
65.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Thelma Gracell Ballinger; his daughter,
Betty Lou Stanley of Florence, Ore.; three sisters, Rooksie Abney and Rita
Cummins of Richmond and Oneida Davis of Indianapolis; nieces and nephews.
His brother, William A. Ballinger, is deceased.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr
Funeral Home. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, 3-7
p.m., and Friday, noon-1 p.m., at the funeral home.
