Mr. Dewey Lee Barnett, age 81, husband of Janet Lucille Blanton Barnett, of Bryant Rd., Brodhead, Ky. passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at the Rockcastle Health and Rehab Facility in Brodhead, Ky.

He was born on May 2, 1923 in Brodhead, Ky. a son of the late Henry and Lillie Webb Barnett. He was a member of Hickory Grove Pentecostal Church where he served as trustee for many years. Retired in 1980 after 33 years of service at General Motors in Dayton, Ohio. He enjoyed carpentery. He was a veteran of the Armed Forces, receiving several citations and decorations.

Those left to mourn his passing include his wife of forty four years, Janet L. Barnett of Brodhead, Ky; five sons- Stanley Dwain Barnett and wife Elizabeth of Middletown, Ohio; Ronald Dale Barnett and wife Mary of Carlisle, Ohio; David Lee Barnett and Larry E. Barnett of Carlisle, Ohio and Barry Lear Barnett and wife Pamela of Cincinnati, Ohio; two brothers- Roy Barnett and wife Mary of Carlisle, Ohio and Charles Barnett and wife Violet of Middletown, Ohio; three sisters-Irene Roberts and husband Bro. of Erlanger, Ky; Christene Scott and husband Garvin of Mt. Vernon, Ky; and Josephine Rose and husband Gerald of Franklin, Ohio; nine grandchildren-Jeffery Brian, Carman, Bradley, Angie, Ben, Andrea, Chad, Tyler and Tara, and three great grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers- Dallas Ray and Oscar Barnett.

Visitation for Mr. Dewey Barnett will be Thursday, July 29, 2004 from 5-9P at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals in Brodhead, Ky. AND Friday, July 30, 2004 from 11A-1PM at the Hickory Grove Pentecostal Church.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 30, 2004 at 1PM at Hickory Grove Pentecostal Church with Bro. Randal Adams officiating; burial will follow in the Piney Grove Cemetery in Brodhead, Ky.
