Mr. Carroll "Carl" Barton, age 51 of Rt. 1 Mt. Vernon, died Sunday, Nov. 23 at his home. He was born in Florida on Dec. 28, 1951 the son of Jude and Carmen Minette Barton. He was a manufacturing technician for Ford Motor Company and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian Robbins Barton; his mother, Carmen Young of Michigan; three sons, Eddie Keller of Texas, and James Wynn and Brandon Wynn, both of Mt. Vernon; one daughter, Christina Phelps (Jeff) of Berea, KY; three brothers, Mike Barton and Arnie Barton, both of Louisville, and Paul Young of Corbin, KY; and five sisters, Lynette Tye of Michigan, Noel Widmyer of Cincinnati, OH, Carmeleta Stamper of Loveland, OH, Linda Hurt of Rising Sun, IN, and Elizabeth Morris of Corbin, KY. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Jacob, Austin, and Dustin; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, J. J.. Barton; and a brother, Tilford Young.
