The Harrodsburg Herald - May 13, 1999 John Blanton John Edgar Blanton, 84, of Plant City, FL, widow of Dorothy Woods Blanton, died Tuesday, May 4, 1999 in Florida. Born August 1, 1914 in Rockcastle County, he was the son of the late Ben F. and Ada Simpson Blanton. He was a retired Ford Motor Company employee. Survivors include: two sons, John Blanton, Jr., SC and Terry Blanton, OH; four daughters, Sandy Varney, OH, Linda Laws, and Ruth Manginelli, both of FL, and Carolyn Thorton, Louisville. He was preceded in death by one sister, Gertrude Brumett. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 8, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Kenneth Preston officiating. Burial was in the Ebenezer Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Blanton, Jr., John Blanton III, Mike Shoupe, Terry Blanton, Kenny Newman, and Kevin Newman. |
