Mrs. Ada
Southard Burdine, 93 of Titusville, FL and formerly of Mt. Vernon died
Friday August 13, 2004 in Titusville. She was born on December 10, 1910
in Mt. Vernon the daughter of the late Walter and Pearl Harper Southard.
She was known for her wonderful cooking, especially her biscuits, and
fried chicken, which she started making when she was 10 years old. She
was a great seamstress and for years made her beautiful clothes. On July
14, 1928 she married John Raymond Burdine at the family home in
Rockcastle County, he preceded her in death in 1983. In 1937 she moved
to Louisville, KY, she was a former member of Eastern Parkway Baptist
Church where she taught Sunday School to young girls, she later became a
member of the Valley View Baptist Church at Valley Station, KY. She was
a resident of Louisville until 1994 when she moved to Costa Mesa, CA to
live with her daughter, then later moved to Titusville in 1995. Her
children; Minnie Rubalcava of Costa Mesa, CA, Paul Kenneth Burdine and
wife Marilyn of Titusville, FL, and William Earl Burdine and wife June
of Taylorsville, KY, 10 grandchildren 14 great grandchildren, 1 great
great grand-daughter, and one sister-in-law; Rose Southard of
Spartenburg, SC survive her.
