CARR, DONALD
Carr,
Donald Ellwood, 68, Mt. Vernon, Kentucky and Lexington, beloved husband of
Janice Rogers Carr, died Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at Navarre Beach, Fl. He was a
Professor of Computer Information Systems in the College of Business &
Technology at Eastern Kentucky University. He was born in Lodi, California, son
of Ellwood Jerome Carr, Brodhead, Kentucky and the late Ruth Laverne Sexton
Addington Carr. He received his Bachelors Degree from the University of
California Davis and his Masters Degree in Agricultural Economics from the
University of California at Berkley. He was a member of Southern Hills United
Methodist Church. Colonel Carr retired from the U.S. Army and the California and
Kentucky National Guard after 26 years of service. Surviving besides his wife
and father are two sons and one daughter, Douglas E. Carr, Lexington, Kathryn
Carr McFearin and her husband, Lee D. McFearin, Plano, Texas, David Ellwood
Carr, Lexington; two brothers, Richard D. Carr, Phoenix, Arizona, Kenneth B.
Carr, Lexington; one sister, Dianne Carr Peterson, Marion, Ohio; and two
grandchildren, Sara Sandra McFearin and David Dobson McFearin, both of Plano,
Texas. Also surviving are his wife’s sons, Christopher L. Thompson and his wife,
Michelle, Lexington and James I. Wheat, Mt Vernon and grandson, Landon
Christopher Thompson also of Lexington. His wife, Sara Gordon Carr preceded him
in death. Funeral services will be 11:30 A.M. Thursday at the W.R. Milward
Mortuary-Southland conducted by Rev. Ray W. Holdren with interment in the
Lexington Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Douglas E. Carr, David E. Carr, Lee
D. McFearin, Charles M. Gordon, Christopher L. Thompson and James I. Wheat.
