Mr. Ernest Joseph Cotton age 77, of Rt.#5
Mt. Vernon died Friday
December 26, 2003 at the Veterans Hospital in Lexington after a long illness. He was
born on April 20, 1926 in Rockcastle County the son of the late Dillard and Sallie
Smathers Cotton. He was
a retired farmer, a veteran of WWII, enjoyed fishing, and was a member
of the Holiness faith.
Survivors are: his wife; Mrs. Ruth Bussel Cotton of Rt.#5
Mt. Vernon.
Three sons; Dale, Wayne, and Jerald Cotton all of Mt. Vernon. One step-son; Coy
Vance of Mt. Vernon. Two step-daughters; Mrs. Wanda Howard of Rt.#4 Mt.
Vernon,
and Mrs. Linda Goolman of Winchester. Ten grandchildren, and four great
grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by; two brothers; Dan, and Lee
Cotton, and by two sisters; Nany June, and Lorene Cotton. Pallbearers: John Griffith, Lewis Cotton, Michael Martin, Randall
Wilson, Peanut Napier, and Miltie Swinney
